Get To Know Edgewater - One of the Best Neighborhoods in Miami to Live

Jul 27, 2021 July 27, 2021

Thinking of moving to Miami, and want to know more about Miami's Edgewater neighborhood? Blackbook Properties Founder Sep Niakan has lived in this bayfront neighborhood for more than 15 years and has the insider insight you’ll want to hear.

Where is Edgewater, Miami?

Centrally located and unbothered by tourism, Edgewater is primarily a quiet, residential and waterfront neighborhood nestled on the shores of Biscayne Bay and the 8-acre Margaret Pace Park. Located to the east of Biscayne Boulevard and just far enough away from Downtown Miami to enjoy its own identity, Edgewater is one of Miami’s most well-kept secrets for those who favor a serene, residential lifestyle that still provides access to all of the eclectic offerings that make Miami exciting.

Edgewater is a great location for those who want to forego driving since it’s easy to walk or ride a bike from Edgewater to many of Miami’s most desirable areas. The Downtown Arts District, including the Perez Art Museum, Frost Museum of Science, and Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center are within walking distance, as is Bayfront Park and FXT Arena (formerly American Airlines Arena).

Why is the Edgewater neighborhood in Miami popular?

Edgewater has grown into its present identity as a beautiful waterfront enclave with plenty of shady greenspace, ideal for young families, and is totally pet-friendly. The entire community centers around Margaret Pace Park, a fabulously maintained greenspace with a walking path, mangrove forests, and direct access to the Bay. It’s a great location for water sports such as kayaking or paddleboarding, as well as rollerblading or just walking your dog, which you’ll make many friends doing. The park also has basketball courts, tennis courts, and two dog parks (one for big dogs and one for small ones).

Edgewater also is also still growing, with more luxury highrises, restaurants, grocery stores and such planned or in development.

Which condo buildings are in Edgewater?

Some of Miami’s best luxury condo buildings are in Edgewater. Many of these buildings are set directly on the bay and have incredible views and amenities. Also, the Baywalk will eventually connect all of Edgewater to the Miami River, creating an incredible waterfront walking path.

Highly popular Edgewater condo buildings include Aria on the Bay, Paramount Bay, Cite Lofts, Gran Paraiso, Elysee, Missoni Baia, and more. Aria Reserve was just announced as the latest waterfront pre-construction condo project in Edgewater.
